    Description

    The Ferrari F8 Spider was developed in parallel with the F8 Tributo and featured the two-piece RHT (Retractable Hard Top) hardtop of its predecessor, the Ferrari 488 Spider. The convertible continued the prestigious open-top V8 line launched with the Ferrari 308 GTS in 1977. It was less extreme than the 488 Pista Spider, but sportier than the 488 Spider, with an extra 50 hp for the engine and 20 kg less weight.

    Technically, the Spider was no different from the Ferrari F8 Tributo coupe. The V8 3.9 biturbo engine produced 720 hp. and 770 Nm. This engine is the evolution of the V8 engine, which has won the International Engine of the Year award for four consecutive years (2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) and has also been recognized as the best engine in the past two decades. It was paired with a 7-speed preselective robotic gearbox.

    A set of electronic add-ons included the SSC (Side Slip Control) control assistant in version 6.1, as well as the FDE Plus (Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer) system, which individually regulated the pressure in the brake mechanisms based on instantaneous movement parameters and allows you to more accurately dose deceleration before attacking turns .

    The reinforced bottom and the hardtop folding mechanism inevitably made the Spider heavier than the coupe: 1400 kg of dry weight instead of 1330 kg, which, however, did not affect the maximum speed – it did not decrease – 340 kph.

    A modified body with optimized air channels and a different arrangement of radiators made it possible to reduce aerodynamic drag by 10% and improve airflow to the engine. And the servo could fold or raise its roof in 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 kph.

    Interior trim and equipment also did not differ from the F8 Tributo model.
