Description
In 2016, in honor of the 50th anniversary of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, when the Ford GT40 MkII won the first three places, leaving Ferrari far behind its main competitor, Ford released a limited version of the Ford GT supercar – the 66 Heritage Edition ".
The limited edition car received a Shadow Black finish (selectable glossy or matte), as well as silver stripes and some carbon fiber details with an emphasis on weaving threads. And the large '2' carved into Frozen White circles on the sides in honor of the crew number 2, piloted by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon.
The car also received glossy gold 20-inch forged wheels with black bolts, similar to the original model.
Technically, the anniversary car was identical to the production car, which meant a V6 3.5 EcoBoost engine with a return of 656 hp. and a 7-speed robotic gearbox through which the thrust went to the rear axle.
The interior also received a few subtle changes. The black leather GT carbon fiber seats were complemented by similar trim on the front fascia, pillars, steering wheel and headlining. In several places, golden accents were placed to match the rims. A tribute to the old racing GT40s, blue seat belts. Completed the set of the original number plate.
The circulation of the limited series was not announced.
