Lister Motor Company Ltd

Lister Motor Company Ltd (England) is a racing car brand founded by Brian Lister in 1954 as part of the family metallurgical business George Lister Engineering Ltd from Cambridge, whose history began in 1890. In 1955-1959, Lister roadsters competed in the sports car championship along with Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Maserati, but with the beginning of the era of mid-engine cars, Lister left motorsport and began consulting for other manufacturers. In 1986, the brand was revived by Lawrence Pearce under the name Lister Cars Ltd. He started with tuning the Jaguar XJS, and then in 1993 developed the Lister Storm supercar. In 2013, the company was bought by Lawrence Whittaker, the owner of Warrantywise (a British car insurance company). Lister Motor Company currently produces replicas of the Lister Knobbly and tunes production Jaguar models.
