Description
The third generation Bentley Continental GT Convertible (GTC) debuted in November 2018 and went on sale in 2019.
The convertible debuted with the same 6-liter W12 6.0 biturbo engine (635 hp), and with the same 8-speed preselective “robot” and all-wheel drive with a front axle clutch. The top speed of the convertible is the same as the coupe (333 kph), and the acceleration time to 100 kph has increased by 0.1 s to 3.8 s.
The new structure of the multi-layer folding roof makes the Continental GT Convertible noticeably quieter than its predecessor: when driving on the highway with the top up, cabin noise is reduced by 3 dB. The company claims that the convertible is now as quiet as the previous generation coupe. The roof can be raised or lowered in 19 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h, the process is fully automated. The new body is 20% lighter than the previous convertible, but at the same time 5% stiffer.
The new front seats are equipped with an improved system for supplying warm air to the riders' necks: it has become more efficient and quieter. And traditional heating using threads is available not only for the seats and steering wheel, but also for the armrests. Otherwise, the open Continental's interior is the same as the base coupe's.
